Christmas. O Christmas…
We came into December battling illness after illness it seemed. My husband’s shoulder/back issues, which are still going on. Kids coughing; kids puking; husband puking…it’s been a wonderful time. Thank goodness for Microban and Lysol! I especially love the Lysol Air spray! It makes things smell wonderful as well!
We then had decided that since my sister wasn’t coming into Cincy this year, we’d go over to DC to see her and my two little fun nephews! Such a long drive for a few days, but oh so worth it! They are the best!
O and G are two boys with lots of energy! They love when Tio Kip and their cousins Emma and Ellie visit! There was loudness; there were giggles; there was running; there was playing; there were tears from being tired; there was SOOO MUCH FUNNNN!!! We went to church, the playground, the Postal Museum, Union Station, and exchanged Christmas gifts! We took pictures around fancy trees and just had a fun time. We surely wished it could have been longer, but were also ready to get home to our furry members of the family as well.

At home, we had a great Christmas morning spoiling the girls. They are at a fun age where they still believe in Santa but also believe that mom is Santa. See, it’s scary for our girls to think a strange man might come into the house while they are sleeping…so Santa puts the presents on the front porch and mom and dad bring them inside around the tree. Ellie will tell you mom is Santa but she also tells you that “every year they are good”. We don’t really force the Santa thing on them as we try to talk more about how it’s Jesus’ birthday. They just have a Santa toy they love and treat like a baby, so Santa is part of it!
On Christmas day, we also go to my Dad and Terri’s. It’s typically a fun, but long afternoon. By the time we all came back home that evening, Ellie could not hang with us. She fell asleep halfway home.
As I told my cousin–I am ready to smack a bow on it and call it a Christmas…but we still have one more Christmas that we are making up on Saturday. Christmas Eve is usually at the hubby’s parents, but we had to skip out since we were driving back from the DC area. Then I’ll be able to let everyone know I’ve smacked that bow down and called it one.
