July started out fantastic! If you’ve never been to Outer Banks, NC–I HIGHLY recommend! It was the most relaxing time. The beach house we stayed in had these beautiful porches to sit on, the beach was within walking distance, and the pool was nice and warm.
We had the best time building sand castles, playing with nephews, relaxing in the sun, and swimming the days away. We got to go on a wild horse tour, climb a lighthouse, and again just spend time together! As I write this, it seems like life times ago…but it will always have fond memories.
Two days after I came back to work after the vacation, I got a visit from my COO and HR. I knew that they were coming, but the meeting was not supposed to be about closing the company. They laid off all but a couple of people in a company I worked at for 14 years. There are feelings I still can’t put into words here that I’ve had. But it’s the end of an era/chapter/period and we’re moving on.
I’ve spent the last few weeks looking for a new position, which God has blessed me with to start soon. He has opened the doors perfectly and walked with us through it all. He has allowed this time for me to just be Mom and spend the last few weeks of summer with my girls. To look back on the past month, I would say I’m truly blessed. I am right where He wants me to be.
